Ipsogen is a life science company focused on the development and commercialization of genomic-based clinical diagnostic tests. Ipsogen tests help oncologists to manage therapeutic options individually for each patient. In 2002, we launched our first test under the brand name of MBCR FusionQuant® for the follow-up of leukemia patients treated with Gleevec®. In 2004 and 2005, we launched a full range of CE marked tests to cover major categories of blood-based cancers. We provide also a biomarker discovery and validation platform to serve the major pharmaceutical companies developing drugs- diagnostics combination in oncology.

Market
The incidence of cancers shows a constant increase due to early detection, ageing of the population and change in the way of life in developed countries. Therapeutic innovation in cancer care is now driven by the knowledge of patient?s individual genomic profile. We focused at first on developing and commercializing predictive markers for blood-based cancers (90 000 new cases per year). We then launched programs in solid tumors such as breast and colon to address the unmet need of predicting therapeutic response in these major cancers (430 000 new cases per year in most developed countries). Ipsogen technologies and products have the potential to apply to various other cancers accounting for the 10 Millions of people diagnosed in 2000.

Technology
We use genome information embedded in cancer cells to develop our products. We perform genomic analysis of tumor tissues to identify biomarkers with prognostic (evolution of the disease) or predictive (response to therapeutic agents) values. We have the ability to screen for 40 000 genomic biomarkers on each sample for discovery or analyse fewer specific biomarkers (1-1000) for validation purposes. Genomic and clinical data are then processed by Ipsogen scientists using state of the art and proprietary bioinformatics/biostatistics tools to find the most relevant biomarkers and ensure performances and robustness of the test. We integrate validated biomarkers on proprietary diagnostic platforms (FusionQuant®, ProfileQuant^TM ProfileSoftware^TM, FusionChip®, ProfileChip^TM) in order to provide regulatory compliant (CE marked), flexible and adapted solutions fitting clinical laboratories needs.
